TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) –
Immigration attorneys will respond to questions and concerns from some southern Arizona families on Thursday night, July 7, at a weekly class that provides free legal counsel to people interested in becoming U.S. citizens.
The Q & A session comes two weeks after a Supreme Court decision denying the DACA extension and DAPA programs proposed by the Obama administration.
That day, families and volunteers were unsure of the effects of the decision, but many said they would not be deterred in the efforts to become legal citizens.
Attorney Margo Cowan will explain what the decision means for undocumented and mix-status families in southern Arizona at the free forum organized by Keep Tucson Together.
The forum starts at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Pueblo High School, 3500 S. 12th Avenue.
Keep Tucson Together has helped more than 130 people become naturalized citizens since September 2015.
