Hundreds Gather at Metro Council Ahead of Votes on Immigration Ordinances

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Hundreds of immigrant families and their supports gathered at Metro Council Tuesday night ahead of three votes on two immigration ordinances.

The ordinances aim to draw a clear line between local government and federal immigration enforcement.

The Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC) is leading the Nashville Together campaign to organize immigrants, refugees, and their neighbors in support of the legislation.

Reporter Nick Caloway is speaking with both supporters and opponents. He’ll have more on News 2 at 10. You can watch on air or online at wkrn.com/live.
