Around 400 people attended an immigration forum in Albuquerque days after Pope Francis called for the fair treatment of the world’s migrants.
The forum organized by the Archdiocese of Santa Fe attracted advocates and immigrant to Albuquerque’s Our Lady of Guadalupe parish amid uncertainty over the current presidential elections.
Advocates say they were concerned about GOP hopeful Donald Trump calling for mass deportations and other Republican candidates’ refusal to support comprehensive immigration reform.
